Remember although G3 is not available at Ardlui your internet connection will be like the old dial up we all used to have and the more people who network through your connection they will drag the bandwidth down to a snails pace.

But very good gesture.

I have a plan to try and get 3G, you can get it just south of Ardlui.. so a good booster and a decent antenna might do the job, if not, you are right it will be GPRS speeds.. but still better than nothing

Best Regards

Craig,

I have struggle to get G3 that far north of the loch as I to have a vodaphone dongle for the laptop. I think O2 have the strongest signal up at ardlui.

Yeah there's an O2 mast at Ardlui so I guess it'll be pretty good there.

Just been checking out all the coverage maps as I have a few dongles.. I have to say none of them are accurate... I have used Vodaphoen 3G at Inchlonaig.. the Narrows etc.. and the may says it doesent cover those areas.. similar for Three..

O2 coverage is poor, as well as Orange..

Vodaphone definetly has the edge on the Loch also the pay as you go pricing is good on Vodaphone

If you cant get 3G GPRS isnt too bad these days.. although Vodaphone hasnt invested in EDGE.. still beats dial up..

There are also a few FON points around the Loch, might set one of these up in the boat so it covers the cost.. could just run it when I am in the Marina.

Not a lot of Openzone which is a shame as I get a free account from work..

Best Regards

Craig
