All,

Received the following warning from Colin in the marina today. Shocked

Think it might be time for a trip to the loch just to make sure !

Jonathan

Due to the worsening of the current weather conditions the we have been increasingly concerned to the levels members have prepared their vessel for the winter, with the temperature dropping to below -10’C for a foreseeable extended period, the severe risks to water systems, toilets, boilers, showers and even engines etc has become extremely high.

We have seen engines with frozen water jackets and slush filled manifolds.

Should these engines be left untreated then they will suffer severe damage to the cooling systems..

Please check, have you winterised your vessel for the extreme weather now being forecast?

On another note the Boathouse is operating to amended hours.
The Boathouse will be closed for breakfast Monday to Friday

The Boathouse will open as normal on Saturday and Sunday and from 12noon Monday to Friday.

If you’re visiting you vessel over the winter period please keep a mind to the weather and the conditions under foot. It is very slippery and lifejackets should be worn when on the jetty at all times. If you can, please inform the marina reception of your presence on the marina and heed the locations of all the safety equipment provided.

Kind regards

Colin

Jonathan,

The marina looks pretty well frozen from the pics I have seen so far.

The thaw is definetly on.. but not at any great pace..

Interestingly the number of burst pipes around is amazing.. guess as it thaws the water flows... would also apply to your boat.. so nows the time to check your bilges..

Best Regards

Craig

Hi All,

Down marina last night all seems back to normal with the Loch, Only problem seems to be leaking pipes on some boats who chose to ignore the warnings.

My Electric bill well lower than the price of sorting pipes or engine problems.
