Some pix of a very snowy and ice bound marina.

Apparently 3" or more of ice, topped off with snow, within the waters of the marina so nothing is moving anywhere.

Brilliant pics , but shame I am still out here in the North Sea with a chill factor near -35 degrees C.

Is the ice getting pretty thick at the marina as it had just started freezing before I left last week.

Hi John

Spoke to Paul at the marina and he thought the ice was upwards of 3" think - I couldn't break the ice at the back of the boat today.
Marina staff have given up trying to break up the ice for fear of damaging their boats - I think they did a good job for as long as they could.

Minus 6 here in Glasgow again tonight, so prob as cold, if not colder, at the marina, so little chance of any melt for a few days yet. Boats still seem to have a few inches of free water around the hulls today, but the pontoons felt almost like solid ground with very little movement walking out to the end of A leg.

Will be back up to the marina early in the week for another check-up - will take more pics then, and let you know how things look.

Cheers
David

David,

Hopefully the ice will have started to melt by the time I get back onshore.

Maybe take a sledge hammer with you to break the ice.

Cheers
