Hi All,

While I agree a brokerage can be good on some marinas I also agree they should respect the members on the marina who are paying a heafty sum to be there by at least getting off the chair & hosing the sometimes derelict looking boats on the list.

If seems a bit naive of a business to try & make money by simply posting a picture in the marina & pay little or no more attention to the boat.

If that was the case you might as well use this forum as a selling platform.

On a more positive note brokers has a lot of knowledge about boats which may well be useful if you are thinking of buying, But remember they are salesman.

I have changed my boat a couple of times over the years & the best information I ever get is by talking to a marina member who has the same model as the one I am interested in.

I have always found the boat owners really helpful & most invited me onboard to look around which is a testement to the good people on the marina.

Hi,

While a lot of the point are valid, I would like to add if you want to know details about boats then talk to the boys in the office, Some of the guys have been on the Loch for years, Also if you want up to date water conditions the Warriors skippers are out several times a day.

There are problems with the Marina, But we should all remember what a good job the staff at our marina do especially with the constraints they have to work with.

I agree with SP. From Collin down to the rest of the marina staff they have always been great although I know that their hands are tied on a lot of issues.

As for problems, of course there are but every marina in the world will have their own. I would like to think that by discussing them on this forum some things can be improved for the benefit of the members. I only found out about this forum from John (Anjo) on another forum site. The more members this site can get, wether marina members or not, the more influence it will have and the more advice it will bring.

Please let you leg neighbours know about it. Question

Same here the CH marina staff do an excellent job at the marina and with current issues they are doing there dammed hardest to ensure the marina is safe and secure for the berth members. I can say if any individual has an issue raise it with marina management and staff if you are at the marina and then share it with the members of the forum.

I would also like to say thanks to the marina staff who have put in the extra late hours for patrolling the marina after the recent incidents we have experianced at the marina over the past few weeks.

Must agree with John here. I have found the Marina staff excellent in our short year at CH. Most unlike the management, the team at the marina are very helpfull & friendly.

I was a little more confident and relaxed when the team started their own nighly patrols. A big thank you to them.

That being said, I was, since becoming a member last year, under the impression these patrols were taking place anyway. Thus I refer back to my comment about the management.

Regards,

Mick.

The Marina manager normally hangs about the marina till late as it is normal to see him jump onto the rib and head for the break water light just to fix it or check the boats during heavy winds. Unfortunate he was on holiday at the time of the incidents so he would not be around the marina late.
