| The issue of Cameron Marina security seems to have gone quiet .....
SO.....
Up at the marina tonight, arriving about 6ish and once again the white gate was lying open. The DeVere Resort high-tech closure system (AKA rope and weight) seems rather stuck again. Surely DeVere/Cameron Resort could afford a proper gate closure device, or perhaps even a proper security gate like those at Kip/Largs/Troon etc etc.
Also, still no sign of the promised security cameras, unless they are well hidden - please correct me if I am wrong. Was this installation not on a fixed promised deadline from the Resort Management ?
AND, on leaving at the back of nine tonight (in darkness), the marina office was also in total darkness, and wondering up through the marina there was no sign of any staff security patrol. Anyone know if the patrols that were started after the break-ins have now been abandoned by DeVere?

| Hello neighbour,
Security is still ongoing as the chap buggered the tumble dryer washin his socks. Ended up putting 4 quid into a tumble dryer at a laundrette in Dumbarton to dry the bed linen.
The security chap does walk the marina, but for security reason I cannot say what time he starts his shift although it is getting dark around 22:00hrs

| Good news is that the new cameras for the marina should be installed shortly and also the marina webcam. Should be happening within the next couple of weeks hopefully. | |

DS. Marina CCTV currently being installed at various ares of the marina and operational. Although it has taken a while to be progressed it should be worth it. Hopefully it may catch some scumbag theives if they decide to have another go in 2010. Security guard still patrolling the marina at night as he makes an appearance on a regular basis on the onboard CCTV on my boat.

| as far as i am aware the cameras are in place and operational, these are in the form of high quality webcams, although one leg is not covered by these so if you are on this leg as i am hard luck! hopefully this will be also covered sometime in the next decade! colin seems to be trying to remedy problems as much as he can, but the boys at the big house are not really that interested, they have their own problems, the company is in a pretty sorry state overall. | |

| Papa T,
I would assume that the leg that currently does not have a camera is covered by a camera further away just look up above the office, but a local camera should be installed soon.
If the big house is struggling for cash well they are not the onlly ones as alot of buisness's are still feeling the after effect from the recession as are a few marinas. So I think the marina management have done well in providing a night watchman and progressed with the installation of CCTV.
You may well have been lucky during the summer, but myself and couple of other boat owners were not with the contents being removed, which has pushed to to have reasonable security at the marina. Hopefully 2010 we will see no thefts at the marina.
